I didn't want this book to end. This is one of the first books that the entire book club has truly enjoyed!
This book had a slightly slow start, but once you turn that corner, it is difficult to put down. I especially enjoyed the fact that it was written from a 5 year old's perspective. This is something completely different than anything we have read in bookclub. I think this is a book that can be enjoyed by many different readers. Everyone in our bookclub loved it. Not one negative comment (besides the slow start) was made, which is rare for our bookclub.
After hearing what this book was about, I didn't want to read The Hunger Games at all. However, after reading the first book (finishing in one day after midnight), I allowed myself to download the second book and read only one chapter. I finished all three books in no time! These books were so addictive.
Don't let the subject matter fool you. It sounds barbaric, but you go into survival mode with the characters. Perfect choice for bookclub - everyone loved it!
