This was a very rewarding book for me to read. I had read it in high school and it made absolutely no impact on me, but reading it now was very inspirational. I enjoyed very much reading it with my book club so I could discuss it with others and get their insights and interpretations of the book and characters in it.
I hadn't read a book written in letter format before and REALLY enjoyed it! The characters were so much fun! It was very thought provoking for me to realize WWII affected not just the countries involved but even remote islands as well. There was a lot of good discussion about the book. I would highly recommend it to other book clubs!
