My Reviews

Look Again by Lisa Scottoline

Intriguing, but unbelievable, sappy

Although the book was initially intriguing, after awhile I lost interest and skimmed through some of the later chapters. The story became very unbelievable and predictable. However, I do believe the book would be good for a discussion group, what makes a parent a parent and so forth.

Sweet sorrow and tender friendships mixed with uppity socialites afraid of change

I felt many emotions while reading this book. While the middle was a little redundant for me, the book as a whole was very enjoyable. I am still amazed at the way some people treat others, both then and now.

Adventurous and mysterious

An easy read with many twists and turns. A mysterious adventure with a little detective work on the side.

Poorly Written, Graphic, Romantic
erotic, fun and racy

The book is erotic, fun and racy. The "sex" scenes are limited. It's more of a love story between a very experienced man and a virgin. I found it very hard to see how they would be attracted to each other, but I guess opposites attract. I did feel the love they had for each other, but wonder what spurred it. The story does stir feelings and I'm glad I had my husband to curl up next to at night!

I truely enjoyed the characters

I could really feel the characters emotions and feelings. I too thought these horrific institutional conditions were very long ago. I am hopeful for the strides we have made in society to accommodate and help those with mental and learning disabilities. The book unravels a very deep, ongoing love.

a foster care child with little hope, finds life and love

The book was hard to put down, but at times hard to read about her life in foster care. The ending was amazing. Easy read, made me really think about my life as a mother and how precious children, family and love are to me.

Interesting, quick read

I really got into this book and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next in the characters lives. It gave me insight to eating disorders but more than that, I loved the compassion these women and family members felt for each other.
