My Reviews
The book contains a lot of facts and history, however, after you get thru the first few chapters, it is a real page-turner.
Book was slow and didn't really have a point, other than to follow the lives of the women who remained friends for years.
Interesting view of addiction from the adict's standpoint. However, the story was repetitive and could have been told much more concisely.
The way this book was written it made you actually feel the pain people went thru during WWII. However, as the chapters alternated between 1942 and 2002, it made the book informative without being maudlin.
I did not enjoy this book.
