My Reviews
This book was definitely a hard read. The story centers around a home built by an Arab man and occupied by a Jewish woman. The Arab man wants to visit there after years of being evacuated from the home. There is a lot of history told here and a lot of it is like reading a history book. If your book club likes reading intense books then I would recommend it as it isn't a light read. Our group had varied opinions of the book. Some liked it intensely and others found it too difficult.
I read this book in two days. I loved reading it and plan on reading it again. The author did a fantastic job of showing what an Alzheimer's patient and family goes through. It really moved me. It's a great first novel by a very promising author. I would like for my book club to read it since it is such a moving and significant book.
