A Lite Book that gives some insight of the Germany occupation of the Island

If you would like something lite but also shows what life was like at the Island during the war this is a nice book to read. I would also recommend if you want further insight into what happened on this island go to your library and check out the DVD "Island At War". If your library does not have it then have them try to obtain using Lend/Lease from another library. My library is wonderful using this method. As a first book by the author she did a good job.

A First Book That Will Keep You On Your Toes

A good read and surprising, it had me still trying to puzzling out clues until the end. This is a good first book by this author and I can tell she will get better and better. If not for the carpel tunnel which makes me lose feeling in my fingers I would try lace making.

To Much Narrative

My book club group had a great discussion concerning this book but I could not read pass page 10. I do not like books that narrated to me. Bores the tears out of me, I like to be in there and this was like a fly over, nothing concerning me. 98% of my book club group really liked the book.

A Nice Lite Read

I do not read inspirational, life changing, spiritual or uplifting books. They bore me silly. I liked this book because it is a story that is not always shoving the above down your throat. It even takes you awhile before you realize that it is a book about hope and not giving in. So for me to still be reading it after page 100 is an accomplishment and I even re-checked it out because I had not finished the book by the time our book club met. Maeve Binchy books are not ones I would go out and buy or look for on library shelves but I am glad I read this book. The only negative thing I heard was there were to many characters being introduced at a moment's notice. And to many to keep track of.

To Predictable

Last year I read a book by Ann Granger with this type of storyline that was better written and had me guessing until the end. I figured this ending out what was going to happen before the trial.
