The Doomsday Book

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written and certainly kept my interest. It was interesting to have the two time periods paralleled and the differences and similarities that occurred with what was happening in each. Had the variety and intrigue that makes a book interesting.

Blind Assassin

Had to fight to get through this one. I did end up finishing it, and there were interesting aspects to this book, that being said, I don't know that I can recommend it when there are so many books out there that really grab you and keep you interested the whole way through.

Overall good read. Really enjoyed the descriptive parts and the characterizations. Easy to get through, yet not a book I couldn't put down.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were well developed and you were really able to get a sense of being there with them and actually "hearing" their voices. Makes you think about the way others are treated and really appreciate all that has been done to correct prejudices that have and still do exist.

I would never have walked through the bookstore and bought this book, however, I am glad I read it. It is definitely a book that makes you think about life and death differently. It is also a good insight into mother/daughter relationships and I also got a reminder that you really don't know about someone fully and that there are many reasons as to why someone is the way they are. Definitely thought provoking and a good read.

I really enjoyed this book! It kept me interested and the characters were well-written and identifiable. Thought it was well worth reading and would recommend to others.

I thought the book was well-written and certainly sucked you into wanting to read more. It is thought provoking, yet at the same time very dark and in some ways disturbing. Because I also read the next 2 books in the series, I will say, I think she should have expanded on this book and made it longer instead of adding two additional books where the story was re-hashed and some of the character developing left lacking.

The Old Man in the Corner (Fingerprint Classics) by Baroness Orczy

I gave this book three stars because I did enjoy the format of the book and the writing style. I also like the fact that every 3-4 chapters you had a new mystery to resolve. I didn't love it in the sense that I could put it down at any given point and it didn't ever captivate me.
