Informative, Adventurous, Insightful
Set in Italy during the final days of WWII, this is the story of the Italian Resistance and the bravery of the Italian people in protecting the Jews from the Nazi's last attempts to succeed at the Fin

Having heard of the French Resistance during WWII, I had heard very little about its Italian counterpart.
This novel made me fall in love with the characters with all their faults. The story moves rapidly and has so many characters that the list of characters in the beginning of the book is a real help keeping everyone straight.
This book is one that I will remember for a long time, turning parts of it over in my mind often.

World famous author decides to tell her true life story to an unknown author.

Almost everyone in our F2F book club was in agreement that this book took a little getting into before it actually grabbed your attention--but once it got a hold on your mind, it did not let go until it reached the final climax. Well worth the effort necessary to get into.
