My Reviews
I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It wasn't quite what I expected. It was a book about a woman's relationship with her father, not about her coping with cancer while continuing to be a mother and a daughter...which is what I was expecting. It also seemed to lack depth of emotion. Nice easy weekend read, but not a great book for a book club.
A wonderful story about relationships, mostly of women in a variety of roles and of varying status. I was never bored with this book.
Even though this book is an easy read and doesn't seem to have much depth at first, we had a great time discussing it. We all seemed to relate to the subject well, and it brought out lots of personal stories. It was a lot more insightful than I first thought.
I had no idea that so much about people's lives could be conveyed through one day a year. I was pleasantly surprised how well that worked. Though not the best book that I have ever read, I did enjoy it.
