Perfect book for the Christmas season. Loved it!!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It certainly kept my mind from wandering off. It totally kept my interest. It was a fast read as well.
Very interesting and eye opening. It's good to read our early history from time to time. There are parts of the book that are rather sad. I discovered my idea of the early prostitutes was quite different from the reality of the situation.
I love Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show. I was very excited to get and read his book. I was a bit disappointed, however. I was expecting to be rolling on the floor with laughter but instead got a soulful look into this mans heart. It's amazing he has survived himself. It is a good read.
I LOVED this book. Excellent for book club or just for reading enjoyment!!!
I'm sorry but this book was not one of my favorites. I do have to say it was well written. Considering this book won the Pulitizer Prize and helped the author win the Nobel prize, I feel it is a piece of literature that should, perhaps, be read. Being a woman in today's world I was totally put off by the Chinese customs and the role women played in that country. The hero, if that's what you want to call him, was self centered and rude, at best, to his "first" wife. I read it because it was selected by one of our book club members. I love history and for that reason I did find sections of the book that were of interest as far as dealing with the day to day lives of families in China prior to their revolution.
Fun read but can't believe this is a children's book. A bit grapic for very young people. I was shocked that I so totally enjoyed it.
If you like fast paced and thrilling this is a great book. Vince Flynn keeps you on the edge of your seat. Loved the book!!
