A Year In Provence by Peter Mayle
Book Club Recommended
Lots of great characters & a welcome retreatPeter Mayle's style of writing brings the area and it's characters to life in such a way that we had a very lively discussion. The exciting extension was to look up Provence in travel books and see Peter Mayle and his book mentioned. Both the men & women in our group enjoyed the book.

One of the best books we've read & discussed!Ms. Gruen's writing style provides so much rich imagery that you can just about smell the passing train. :o) We enjoyed the insight into the older Jacob's world, which provided us with a reminder to be more accomodating and cherishing of our elders and seek out their stories.
