Although it was difficult to read about the ugliness of slavery, it was also beautiful to see how each progressive generation worked to improve life for the next generation. I’m so glad I read it.

I am glad I read this book. There was so much information and it caused me to rethink cloth and clothing in general. I enjoyed all the interesting historical facts, although it would have been easier to follow with a slightly clearer organization. The book sparked many fun discussion topics and was the perfect choice to begin our book club!
