My Reviews

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

Pointless, Gloomy, Beautiful
A book about a movie that never exisited.

This book is written in an unusual style of writting called ergotic. The happenings in the story are mirrored on the pages. i.e. Soemone is feeling trapped or clautrophobic the letters become bunched together in the center of the page. Thats only one of the many unsual things that happen ad you read this novel. A novel about a man looking for a apartment, who finds a manuscript written by a dead man detailing the movie of the life a family moving into a new house. Its a love story with horror. Its confusing, sending you around and around trying to piece together multiple viewpoints from different characters. Its a challenge to read on a good day and impossible to read on a bad one.
I loved it, even with the footnotes for footnotes to footnotes which dont exsist.
