My Reviews

Interesting, Dramatic, Insightful

Relies heavily on cliches and feels soapy. The twists were easily guessed early on in the book, and many of the characters became almost a parody of a personality. Dialogue is exceptionally weak at times. If you enjoy camp, this will delight, but look elsewhere for depth.

Brilliant, Fun, Adventurous

Very fun, quirky, VERY dry British humor, and surprisingly sweet. I found Anathema and her counterpart to be a bit of a slow read, but Crawley and Aziraphale are an absolute delight when they share the page. I actually belly-laughed a few times. Quite enjoyable and would read again.

Informative, Insightful, Life Changing

Gawande truly has a gift with language. He brings an easy clarity to complex medical scenarios and allows the reader to fully understand each experience. Insightful, informative and genuinely interesting.
