My Reviews
Well-written and absorbing book with characters so alive you feel you know them. Lamb really explores how our past influences our present. One of my favorite books of all time.
The journals of fictional Logan Mountsuart show his growth and changes as the 20th century moves along. His mistakes, adventures, and loves are all laid out. I read this with highlighter in hand-many wonderful quotes. Was also produced by Masterpiece Classics and was excellent.
Good book for discussion even though many of us felt we would have like more info on the furniture found and furniture appraising. The Belle Epoch part of the story was so much better than the modern day story but overall, well enjoyed.
This was a thought provoking book which led to interesting discussion about a neglected period in Iran's history. It was sometimes difficult to keep the charactesr straight but worth reading for it's beautiful writing and important subject matter.
