My Reviews
I haven’??t read many Autobiographies, and I wasn’t?? sure how I would get on with this book. I was so pleasantly surprised at how absorbed I got into parts of Michelle Obama’??s life. It was easy to read and I enjoyed how open and honest she is about all aspects of her life. She comes across as a strong woman and I found her really inspiring at times. I enjoyed her internal thought process and how, through her experiences, she reflects on how those experiences made her grow. I really liked her honesty about her feelings and emotions. She is a strong lady. And I also enjoyed her realness about her relationship with Barack, making her relatable as she talks about some of the tough times. Trying to make as normal life for their children as possible in a very abnormal situation in the White House.
I found her writing easy and my attention was held throughout. I wouldn’t say it was a major page turner, and I had no difficulty putting it down when I needed to, but I did really enjoy it. It just goes to show how personal stories are interesting and insightful. A great read!
I really enjoyed this read! I haven’t read much crime novels, and this was a real page turner. I couldn’t put it down. I felt the prose was clear and easy to read. No major beauty in the writing, but this wasn’t a book that needed that. The narrative was the great page turner. There were a few moments I felt might have been a bit far fetched, but that didn’t bother me. I was totally absorbed. I loved how in the beginning I was really not sure how these narratives were linked, but the writer weaves them together beautifully. I wondered if there might be a final twist at the end, but I found the ending satisfying and it rounded off the novel well. Life felt more positive. A great read!
