Our Book Club Members were all really excited to read Jonny Appleseed as our first Book Selection, mostly because the author was a Canadian, First Nations, Two-Spirit storyteller, with a seemingly interesting storyline.
While some members enjoyed the book, others felt that it was amateurly written (this is Whitehead’s novel) with no real plot developments.
All members agreed that this character-driven novel highlighted and offered insight to an often unspoken topic of Two-Spirited members of our First Nations Communities.
