It was an incredible story of a girl surrounded by challenges that she met every day with bravery,courage and a strong will to meet and overcome the many obstacles in her life. Sarah gained the respect and love of all the people she touched in her life whether as a friend,wife,mother or relative, she was always there for them. She showed how a woman living in the frontier days could become an educated business leader while remaining a devoted wife and mother during the most challenging times.

This book was very complex in dealing with ethical problems that Anna as the "designer baby presented. It was hard in the beginning of the book to follow as each chapter changed to a different character. Once the characters presented themselves I became very attached to Kate and Anna with their strong,loving bond as sisters. The ups and downs of the family in dealing with such a stressful situation was hard to comprehend at times but the love and support for each other lay deep in all of them. It was heartbreaking in the ending but was beautifully written and couldn't help but touch your heart.
