My Reviews

A.D. 62: Pompeii by Rebecca M. East

The concept was interesting, but the plot was predictable and characters not well developed.

I was disappointed in this book, although I did finish it.  I thought the concept presented myriad possibilities that were not developed in the plot.  Without giving away the story, the reactions of some of the characters to events as the story unfolded did not ring true.  The main character had much more freedom to move around than realistic for a slave and, although disliked by many in the household, seemed to escape punishment even when her protector was not in the picture.  The historical info was interesting, but so much more could have been included.  The ending was unlikely.
