My Reviews
One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd (One Thousand White Women Series Book 1) by Jim Fergus
Unconvincing, Difficult, Poorly Written
The descriptive adjectives I actually would like to use for this book are:
*Offensive
*Racist
*Misogynistic
*Patronizing
The author used every 1990’s stereotyping trope he could insert. His portrayal of races and ethnicities should be the foundation of basic “how not to write”
examples. ‘His’ attempt to write from a woman’s perspective an abject failure.
To say I came away loathing the author is an understatement. The story itself could have been written so much more believably without the author’s prejudices.
