My Reviews

Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb

Fun, Romantic, Inspiring
Our book club had one of the best discussions ever after reading this book.

I personally loved Julia's Chocolates. It's a fun book and it made me laugh out loud at times. Yes, it can be a tad bit unrealistic in parts, and perhaps far-fetched, but delighful in it's own way. The characters are interesting and I missed them after I finished the book.

Dramatic, Insightful, Interesting
Thought provoking

I enjoy Jodi Picoult as an author. She does make people think, whether one agrees or disagrees with the subject matter. I have some strong feelings about medical issues due to my own life experience which made the book challenging for me at times!

p.s. I meant to click on the number three, and tried to go back and change it, but couldn't. I thought this to be a good book for group discussion.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Dramatic, Insightful, Beautiful
I think this book could generate all kinds of discussions. Very good.

The Book Thief is one of the best books I have read. Characters and plot will stay with me for a long time. I am personally interested in the subject matter, but I do think that anyone who is a reader would appreciate it.

Pointless, Slow, Dark
Fragmented thoughts as a young woman searches for meaning in her life

I struggled in writing the above summary, as the book was one of the strangest I have ever read. Somehow the author did keep me engaged and I am not sure why. Choose this book if you are looking for something really different knowing that it is not for everyone!
