My Reviews
I found this truthful and insightful however the writer was not discriminated for employment. As a white woman applying for work with high school dropouts and illegal immigrants she received preferential employment. I would have liked to see this perspective written by a minority or include a survey of experiences.
The author shows how many people can not survive on minimum wage but I think it did not show how bad it can truly be.
I personally did not enjoy this book but after discussion I have more respect for the work. I would recommend this book for discussion but I would not recommend this book as a solo read.
Interesting read but would recommend for clubs without inhibitions.
