I just listened to her at 52 talk about her life. Dead at 60 I found it informative, insightful and interesting not having known the details of her life. I really like it when the author reads their book!
Fast entertaining read. Seemed to be written for a book club, about a book club. Discussion but hooky.
I hope Leonardo gets it made into a movie.
I took trip to chicago after reading and wanted to tell everyone I met about the book so they would know history in their town.
I enjoyed so much
I bought me wedding dress in Savannah 52 years ago. I lived in Beaufort at the time so made the drive to the mall and boutique for dress. The city is simply stunning. Then this book came out after I moved away. I had to read it and then learn so much history I hadn’t cared about as a young woman. I didn’t know about transvestism like I do now.
I would so have loved to see Lady Chablis at a club. I can see her in the movie! Books are so much better than movies!
