this book proved difficult for all members and not one single person finished the book in the time, so it seems it didn't engage or interest us enough. A shame, and most of us have said we'll persevere to the end it's not a glowing recommendation.

I really enjoyed reading this, and quite enjoyed the almost gentle pace of the narrative. I really felt the emotion of lila came through, while others in the group found the character annoying in her refusal to be positive when so much had worked out well for her.

Overall the group was split equally between those who enjoyed it and those who didn't, although everyone finished the book.
