Awesome read!

There were so many things that I really enjoyed about this book. The story read very smoothly. One thing I look for in a book is if the story flows like a movie in my head. There was no hiccups or confusion. The story was exciting and appealing. It kept me guessing, then when I thought I had it all figured out hints were being dropped making me second guess myself.

The characters are so real and relatable.
Set and Davad- I absolutely hated Set and Davad at the beginning. They are just so unruly for their age. I feel like they should know better and they just piss me off. They didn’t listen to Jacob at all. At that age they should know better. The further you get into the story you see them grow and their personalities really shine through and completely change your mind about them.
Tristan- I really liked Tristan. He is one of my favorite characters in this book. I just feel so badly for him for everything he has overcome and still has so much more to overcome. I just want to hug him and shelter him from all the negative shit that’s thrown his way.
Jacob- I liked his character a lot! One thing I hated most about him is all his secrets. If he would just let the boys in on some things I feel like things could have turned out a little differently.
Anliac- Anliac is by far my favorite character. She is so bad ass and with her aquis skills it just send her into a whole new level. She doesn’t stop fighting even when the odds aren’t in her favor and things look grim she keeps fighting. I really like that about her.
Shashara- I didn’t really care for her. She didn’t really stand out to me as much. I felt like Anliac over shadowed her in the story. Analiac has that way about her that she demands all eyes on her.

I felt out of the loop a lot until the end when you learned more about the races and Angelis. Just enough information was given to get you by, then at the end it all clicked. It made you feel like you were being left out of the secrets too. So you were right there beside the characters feeling the anxiety, anger, sadness, and the not knowing. You were learning right along with them. It made for a really great journey.

Now for the bad part. To be honest there were only 2 things that I disliked about this book. One of my biggest pet peeves is repetition. I can’t stand repetitive words and phrases in a story. One thing that stood out to me a lot was the over use of the word trepidation. It was used enough that it caught my attention every time it showed in the story. The 2nd thing that I disliked was the book cover. I felt like the guy on the cover was not Tristan. He looks way too old to be him. I guess it’s just the facial features. It’s manlier than a teenager. He also looks constipated. Just wasn’t a fan. I love the back drop of the planets, moons, and the starry sky. The cover is what draws you in and it just didn’t do it for me.

Overall I found the book awesome and addicting. I would definitely recommend it to others. I’m also looking forward to the 2nd book in the series so I can see what happens next!

Quote from the book that stood out to me that I LOVED!

“You can trust a fera to be led by instinct. You can trust a mortalis to be more heart than head. You can trust a fulgo to see power and that a nox will place his prowess above his own life. You must know what a man is if you are to judge his value and intent. My men don’t trust you, Yellow eyes. They don’t want your help.” (Triton, Superi: Reborn P. 115)

Review of Indigo Dusk: An Epic Fantasy Romance (The Aetherial Embrace Trilogy Book 1) by Kristy Nicolle

5 stars

Indigo Dusk is by far one of my favorite reads of 2020.

I've followed this Author since her debut novel and she just keeps getting better and better. Her attention to detail is insane. Her character and world-building are out of this world. She doesn't just let you fall into the story. She sweeps you away in it like a ferocious hurricane!

Indigo Dusk is about a young woman named Kairi, fighting an invisible illness. She finds solace in a man whom she thinks is going to give her a happily ever after. He sweeps her away to a magical place. The vivid imagery of this fairytale-like place is just beyond amazing. The detail that went into this new world is phenomenal. I felt like I was in this heavenly sacred place. The color scheme and details were just so precise and painted the best picture in my head. It gave me all sorts of the feels. I love that by the end of the book Kairi does not let her disease run her life. She accepts her past and takes charge of the present and her future. This book left me wanting more. SO much more. It's going to hurt waiting for the next installment. This was just such a great book! One that will stay with me for a long time. I love mythical creatures and fairytale-like stories. So, this had me hook line and sinker. I often can tell how a story is going to end and this one had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I would highly recommend this book to others.

5 stars

Kristy Nicolle has done it again! I don’t give out 5 stars easily and she has snagged another one from me! The Opal Blade starts out with a very spoiled rich girl, Sephy. She hides behind her snarky and quick-witted attitude. At first, I was thrilled about this character. It was a breath of fresh air having a woman MC taking up characteristics that you see in most male MC’s, example-rich, cocky, womanizing man whore. So to have a female character do that it was different. Then I started to not like Sephy. Her attitude got old, her nighttime antics got old, she seriously came across as a spoiled rich girl. However, in my eyes, she fully redeems herself and becomes a loveable character. She’s a bad ass hero that doesn’t need saving. I loved her friendship with Xion. He was like the Ying to Sephy’s Yang. They insult each other perfectly. I really loved the world the Author built in this book. I’ve always loved Greek mythology so as soon as I knew it was about the underworld I was intrigued. Her take on it was way different than anything I’ve ever read before and it sucked me in! I love how she didn’t make “hell” this crazy damned place. She made it where you can repent and still move on. You weren’t damned for eternity like everyone believes. The characters and this world just went together perfectly. Oh, and I can’t forget about Haedes. Omg, I think I’m in love! I really love this character and can’t wait for more of him in book 2. What can I say I’ve always loved the bad boys. Throughout the entire book, you were questioning everyone's motives. Are they sincere? Are they trustworthy? Is so and so going to betray Sephy. It was seriously written so perfectly, and you didn't know what was coming next. The twist at the end surprised me! I did not see it coming at all. It really set the pace for the next novel and I really can’t wait to dig in. I would highly recommend this book to everyone! Like seriously go pick it up right now!

First off let me start by just saying WOW! Paranormal Romance is my favorite genre. I have NEVER read a book solely based on mermaids. This book was a breath of fresh air from what I have been reading! It’s very well written for a Debut Author. Kristy’s attention to detail is extraordinary. She made me feel like I was right on the beach and at the bottom of the ocean. I felt like I was right there in every scene.

The main characters in this novel are very likable.

Callie- She is such a strong main character. Her personality is relatable. She was also a nice change of pace compared to those “Help me help me damsels in distress” type female roles that seems to be taking over in books.

Orion- Where to start with this sexy Greek god of a merman! I LOVED that he was so down to earth and not entirely full of himself. His undulated love for Callie made him even more desirable.

I got swept up in all the mermaid lore. It was really fascinating the route the Author went with it. I’ve always been a huge fan of Greek mythology so the fact Poseidon had a role in it made it all that much more interesting. This book really is amazing. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. THIS BOOK WILL BE THE NEXT BIG THING! It will be bigger and better than Twilight ever was. I’m so glad I was allowed to join in on this journey from the start. I can’t wait for the next book.

I would definitely recommend this book to others.

All I can say is wow! This book is so well written. I love the characters and the futuristic dystopian setting. I love the descriptions the Author used. I felt like the characters were well developed. Valentine at times made me want to rip my hair out at how pouty and whinny she was. But she makes up for it with her quick wit and forward attitude. Clark, what to say about Clark. He is kind of an ass but I myself love the "bad ass" "bad attitude" type of guys. So of course I fell in love with him from the get go! I really liked watching this couple grow to care for one another. I think if you like Romance you will love this book. If you like Dystopian books you will NOT be disappointed with this book! It really is a MUST read
