I have always enjoyed reading memoirs and this book is no exception. It is not only well written but rich in musical and sixties era history. Being a fellow Hoosier was a delightful bonus for me! I related to a lot of the Indianapolis settings which allowed me to visually walk through this book.
Mr. Dunlap captivates me as a reader as I related to his rocky marriage and the tough personal decisions he had to make throughout his young adult life. It was exhilarating to live a musical entertainers life with Mr. Dunlap and his band as they went from rags to riches to well …real life. I applaud the openness and raw honesty that this Author gives the reader as he depicts not only his accolades but also the mistakes he makes on this journey.
Thank you Mr. Dunlap for allowing me to become part of a rock n roll band at least for a while as I read your book. I took the ride with you from Indiana to Las Vegas and enjoyed every minute of it. As a reader if you want to travel back to an infamous era and become part of a rock n roll band for a while this is definitely the book for you! I’m looking forward to the sequel!
Violet - Last Rites written by Rob Ryder is not only a beautiful story about the end of life. But an inside look at how living a life of love and giving can give you such peace as you leave this world. I related to this book on so many levels. I loved hearing the stories of heritage that are woven throughout the book. It made me feel as though I too were a part of this family while sharing this special event in their lives. I loved the Polish ancestry and the tales of camping trips in the Adirondacks, it made me not only fall in love with Violet but her family also. Being in the medical profession I appreciated the closeness that the hospice staff acquired while caring for Violet. It warms my heart to know that there are still such caring people in this world. I recommend this book to anyone who is grieving or going through a terminal illness. It will lift your spirits and hopefully bring a smile to your face. I appreciate the author letting us in to share such a private time in his life.
A well written story that not only takes you on a journey through the pressures of the teen years but delicately weaves a message throughout the book. The characters are well cultivated and leave you wanting to know more. I recommend this book for teens and adults, there is definitely something here for everyone. Thank you Mr. Merlino for sharing your talent with the world.
Every home should have a copy of this book in it! Mr.Lowe shares very practical information for almost every natural disaster event. I live in the Midwest in what is referred to Tornado Alley. A few years ago the town I live in was devastated by and E4 tornado. The tips in this book were spot on!
Every geographical location has some type of weather related incident that they are more vulnerable too. I highly recommend not only reading but utilizing this book. Thank you Mr. Lowe, with the information that you have provided you will certainly help save many lives.
I'll be honest with you this book was out of my usual genre of reading. I have been an avid reader all my life and if you don't have my full attention by chapter 3...then I'm out! Ms. Lynch had me in Chapter 1. Bravo to this author for keeping the story edgy with page turning anticipation. Knowing that this is a series only makes it better for the reader. Guaranteeing that there will be more to come from this author in the future. There are very few books that really do have such a twist at the end that I don't see it coming. But Ms. Lynch effortlessly blindsides the reader with the unexpected turn of events in the Flockdale Files! I highly recommend this book and it you think it's not the type of book that you would read step out and try something different. I promise you will not only be surprised but left anticipating the next volume of this story as I am.
This book was not my usual genre of reading but it turned out to be an exhilarating page turner. If you like romance with a twist of out of this world surprises than this is the book for you. Well done Ms. Daniels
What a unique twist in writing a whodunit! It was like reading a story within a story…a very unique writing style that made this book a delightful read.
I instantly was charmed by the main character and enjoyed her captivating interpretation of writing a murder mystery! It is definitely worth your time to check out this imaginative author’s style of storytelling.
The quirkiness of the book only adds to its interesting cast of characters and the ending, well I’ll leave that as an amusing surprise! Bravo Mr. Colton, you managed to pull off the mastery of a well written whodunit!
This was definitely not your typical boy meets girl romance novel. The era of this author is colorfully peppered throughout the book. The care free hippie lifestyle makes this a fun and sassy read.
This would be a great day on the beach read as well as a cuddle by a warm fire evening of entertainment!
The main character has anything but the average white picketed fence life, but I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have it any other way! Ms. Bird a great job of stepping outside the box of the average romance novel. An intense look at a great era of time gone by!
