My Reviews
The book was a big hit with the ladies. Some of them were professed animal lovers while others were tolerant. However, everyone shared stories of family dogs, or friends' dogs. Some claimed to have had the perfect dog, while others shared the fun of a "Marley" clone. Even cat stories were shared. The book was a great discussion jump off to the animals who touched our hearts.
This was our Community Read for this year. It ties in well as a way of bringing people together.
The book generated a wonderful discussion at our last meeting. While most of us disliked books of letters, this was so beautifully written and easy to follow, we changed our minds about letters. The facts of the real story intertwined with the fiction. We all felt we had read a gem of a book.
