The Boston Girl: A Novel by Anita Diamant

Boston Girl

This was an easy read, and I enjoyed the pace. Our book club had a lively discussion that at times went much deeper than the actual book. So they fact that it inspired conversation makes it a winner for me. However, the actual content of the book was very 'surface', with very little depth of character or actual events of the era.

Slow, Dramatic, Interesting
I really tried to love it!

Was really excited to read the book, as the subject matter sounded so interesting. Perhaps something changed in the translation of the book from Italian to English, but it just was tough to finish. I could not figure out who was the protagonist, and was never fully invested in any of the characters. Such a missed opportunity for what could have been a wonderful story.
