The way the author jumped back and forth between characters, I found confusing. It was difficult to follow many of the characters as there was so much going on and you couldn\\\'t find a thread in this dysfunctional family or the minor characters. It seemed as the author tried to \\\'pack too much punch\\\' in The Widower\\\'s Tale, missing the knockout.
