Although the format of six short stories split in two can be odd at first, the cliffhangers are totally worth the payoff in the end.
The Thirteenth Tale is a great mystery story told from two perspectives, a biographer who has better relationships with 19th century novels than her own family, and the renowned author who excels at inventing stories and distorting the truth. Although it moves slowly at times, the ending is excellent. I rate it an 8 out of 10.
Miriam, the second of Rashi's daughters, has to come to terms with married life. Her husband has to come to terms with his attraction to other men.
