This book reports on the use of cells removed from a cancer patient. It raises questions regarding ethics and gives food for thought regarding what we really own in this world.
There is an interesting twist. Hidden clues lead you to try and guess how this plot plays out.
The story about the murder was so familiar, I may have read it before. This time around I was interested in the Marconi saga.
Having read up on the gentleman from New York who supposedly "invented" and experimented with the same techniques as Marconi, this book enlightened me that the conspiracy and pirating that precluded communications. Our history books tell us only a few facts, that we take as the truth, not realizing the treacherous race that the inventors faced.
While not a great literary read, it does offer insightful peeks into the private life of Harper Lee. While she disliked Truman Capote: her childhood friend\'s flamboyant ways. I wonder if her travelling to New York to \'write\' was a euphemism. New York allowed her to be anonymous.
She keeps most of her personal life secret and never marries. This reader hopes that some of the manuscripts \'written\' in New York surfaces. She was an incredible writer to become so prominent at such a young age.
Even if some of her work does not match the level of To Kill a Mockingbird, it would be nice to be able to peek into her mind and read her thoughts.
