This is a novel about the ultimate survival of a society that is trapped deep in space on a ship hundreds of years overdue to land in a new world. It is a murder mystery, a romance and a sci-fi novel that takes the reader into a pseudo-utopian world in which its leader, Eldest, is willing to do anything in order to maintain the survival of this society, regardless of the cost.
Kept me wanting to know more. Was fascinating to read about the servants\' side of the story, their daily lives and perspectives, struggles and what desires they had and how they dealt with them. How their role in the household was affected by the changing needs of the family they served.
