Our hostess for this meeting served a Nigerian stew she found online with a side casserole of yams. Yams play an important part in the book. We drank an African Chenin Blanc. She made favors of little mirrors accompanied by a poem she wrote about looking into ourselves to find our "chi".

Found it a little long and confusing in parts. But really enjoyed the impact of colonialism on the characters and village life. Great book!
