On this planet species go extinct daily, so apocalypse is a pretty grandiose term for the near-extinction of a single species, even if that’s the species that keeps score. Harry and Michael are faced with a life-saving medication that misfires, a global catastrophe, and some very harsh times following. The story is about the pain of loss, the search for a better way to live, and people who try to make it happen. Some people are more helpful than others. Is it possible to build a more people-friendly world this time around, or will they be stuck in the same old cycle?
