Introduction
Vada Bower, mini-van princess and stay-at-home mother of three, appears to have it all together. No one would ever suspect this always smiling "supermom" to be ridden with anxiety, on antidepressants, or to have an internal dialogue that makes the f-bomb sound like a nursery rhyme.
Vada not only lives with obsessive-compulsive disorder, but suffers from one of the most common dilemmas of motherhood: putting everyone else's needs before her own. Overwhelmed and pushed to her limit, Vada finds herself in a mental institution. It is in the "nuthouse" where she joins an interesting group of women, all with their own unique stories, including a roommate who she swears has to be "bath salts crazy." After learning more and more about these women, Vada realizes that her maternal instincts do not have an off-switch. She once again puts herself on the back burner to star in her forever role as the caregiver. Only this time, things do not necessarily work out according to her plan. Vada is in way over her head, and finds that her own mental issues will backfire on her in a way that she never could have imagined.
With a laugh-out-loud plot, Vada takes you with her through the internal struggles of motherhood. No one ever said being a mom was easy, and Vada will pull out all the stops to prove it! Her story will leave you begging the question, aren't we all a little unbalanced?
~The Unbalancing Act is a humorous fiction novel that captures all of the things that you have always wanted to say as a mother, but simply couldn't. No worries, Vada will take care of that for you!
