Painful to read at times, but very interesting! I learned a lot about this time period in China that I did not know before!

Written from the viewpoint of Frank Lloyd Wright's lover, it was fascinating and disturbing to me at the same time. The story lingered with me for a long time after reading it.
Well written. I could really picture South African Life from the author's perspective. However, sometimes the story felt disjointed--kind of like several stories within one. Ending felt a bit "unfinished" to me.
Come on...unrealistic expectations. While I applaud trying to live a more meaningful life for yourself and others, I was overwhelmed by this book! TMI--too much information crammed into it! Felt it was more about the author than in her trying to help others.
