Even our members who were hesitating at first thinking it may be "too dark" were completely hooked on this book! We've gone on to read the whole series. Collins' work is brilliant.
I think I was the last woman in my office to finally read this book. I\'m a bit of a book snob and snubbed it at first. It was a bit difficult to get over the poorly written text, but when the author finally got to the erotica, the material WAS worth it. A good guilty escape.
Reminded me a bit of "Hunger Games." A fantastical post-war world with a strong heroine - which I always enjoy and appreciate.
Great book as "The Shining" was always one of my favourite King novels. For anyone curious to what happened to Danny Torrence, this is a must!
This series is fabulous! The characters are well-developed, and the story is original and interesting. Anyone who likes fantasy novels should be reading this series and the "City of Bones" series that follows this one.
