Although I learned about a culture and part of our history that I hadn't known about before, I found it somewhat poorly written and redundant. I feel like I've read this before, but in a different context.

I think this is the perfect book for a rainy afternoon. It's interesting, a little dark, kinda romantic, and fully engrossing. You will root for the heroine even though you can't completely sympathize with her choices. Very interesting and would spark some good conversation at book clubs. Didn't completely buy the "flower language" stuff, though. Took it with a big grain of salt.
