The Best Book You'd Never Pick

I would never have picked this book up off the shelf on my own but am so glad our book club picked it! It is a beutifully written book that while containing lots of detail and side stories, manages to tie them all together and show how every word written fits perfectly into place. A very compelling story that contains a little bit of everything (historical data, romance, modern day medicine, emotion) to keep any reader enthralled. A great book!

Dragon Tattoo Worth it if you can Stick With it

The back of the book tells you about a young techno-savy, on the edge girl and an older conservative gentleman that join forces to solve an old family mystery. By the time you reach the end of the book, that will hold true, but considering that the 2 do not meet until 250 pages into the book, makes the statement a bit misleading. Lots of character development (maybe too much), and some rather graphic areas, but once the dynamic duo hook up the action is non stop and you suddenly find yourself at the end of the book before you know it. Loved the last 250 pages of the book and can appreciate the development, but would liked to have gotten to the "action" a bit quicker. Great book if you can make it through the beginning.
