A story of suffering and love within troubled Afghanistan

Even though this book has been out for quite a while, it was never one that I was interested in reading. When one of our book club members choose it for her selection, I thought it was going to be a miserable read. I can't tell you how wrong I was. It was a book that captivated me from the first page - one I didn't want to put down and was sad to end.

Excellent discussion material.
