My Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. The family dynamics were interesting to me. More than half of our club did not like the book at all though - they found it shallow with too many characters, not enough development, and all agreed that is was a poor ending.
I found this book to start very slow. In fact, I had to convince myself to get through the first 4-5 chapters. But then, all of a sudden, I couldn't put it down. An interesting look back at that time period, and the conundrums faced by those of different stations in life.
Although the book starts a little slow, I was soon captivated by the dog's journey and search for his purpose. Very different from our other recents books, I was surprised that even the non-dog owners really enjoyed this book.
Found it a bit slow going but then was captivated. Personal relationships between characters kept developing and the twists kept it interesting.
