A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Inspiring, Optimistic, Insightful
A vivid peek into 19th century England as well as the human soul. Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former partner as well as three spitits of Christmas to persuade him that he is worthy of redemExcellent book for a holiday book club meeting. The tale is rather brief, yet rich in symbolism and lavish Dickens' adjectives. One of the divas referred to it as a "delicious holiday treat". The Mermaid Divas (our club) were able to have a delicious potluck meal, discuss the book, do a gift book exchange, and select our books for the next 6 months!
