When Jillian has a one-night-stand with a co-worker, it’s the final straw. She realizes that she would never cheat, no matter the circumstances, unless her marriage was already over. Jillian’s life had followed the expected trajectory, despite that her adopted family was always broke and failed at any kind of emotional support. Any mistakes she made along the way were repressed and hidden away. So she refuses to admit the toll the divorce takes on her and gets involved with the wrong man. When her personal and professional lives begin to overlap and, ultimately, collide, she starts to question her own values and decisions, and realizes that, while letting go can be a nearly impossible accomplishment, it can also be the most freeing.
