This book was a very interesting historical novel! It gives a good understanding of those who formed this new nation at great sacrifice. We owe them a great debt! We now live in the greatest nation in the world!

It took so long to read this book. I was afraid I would not finish it before the next book club meeting. It never managed to grab my interest. I was reading the chapters just to finish the book. The idea of the book is a good one, but for some reason I never really could enjoy it. It is of epic length.
