I learned so much about the Chinese culture in the early 1900s.
This book was so interesting. It is so typical of the way women were treated in all cultures. Men have always wanted a son, but girls were considered worthless in most cultures. Women were expected to run the house and men were the providers, but women were always the strongest. II worried about the characters right from the beginning of the book.
Book held my attention and was informative and customs of long ago. Sometimes and little gloomy and sad. It was well written.
This is another book that our Book Club rated 4.5 stars. Very interesting, detailed story.
