My Reviews

Gone Girl: A Novel by Gillian Flynn

Predictible

Though I can't say every single event was predictible, it didn't take long for the reader to have an idea of what was happening. I will give Gillian credit for perhaps convincing some readers in the beginning that Nick did it, but it was too pretty to be alluring or addictive.

The book didn't take too long to read, but I certainly didn't find myself being unable to put it down. Overall, it was a fine book.

Debatable

This book was rather slow. It lacked the urgency I'm used to in suspense books - possibly because of the narrator's alcoholism, narcissism, and idiocy.

It was really hard to get into this story. It wasn't until the last couple chapters that anything really caught my attention.

I've heard it compared to Gone Girl. I think this one had a better conclusion, justice was served.

Great Book

This book was amazing! It was well written, had a good story line, and held your interest. It was hard to put down.

It was by far the best book we've had in awhile. Everyone enjoyed it, and the discussion flowed.

Eye Opening

We all managed to avoid watching the movie before we read the book, which was impressive! This book was very well written. Though I have only experienced this disease as a family member, I think it was insightful to see the development through the eyes of a patient.

I cheered for Alice and hoped for any relief throughout the book. Her speech was very moving. I think we all worried we had memory loss during the first doctor's visit where he gave her a list and asked her to remember it. I know I'll never forget John Black, 42 West Street, Brighton.

Page Turner

This book was very well written. I was hesitant about the selection at first because I don't have kids, but I ended up enjoying it. The book was a little slow at first, but close to the end you really were pulling for the main character.

Educational

If you have no experience with botanicals or botany, I recommend having access to google while you read if you like to "learn" everything discussed like I do.

It was a good book. It will make you happy, sad, & mad - multiple times!

Good Book

This book was good, though several people talked about getting confused about the characters as they read.

The storyline was good. It wasn't too long, and it had a nice flow.

LOVE THIS SERIES!

I HIGHLY recommend reading all of these. Mind you, I'm only in the third one now, but... I've loved them all!

Good Read

This book came after several not so great books so it was a welcome change! The blending of families and children could be a little confusing if you weren't fully engrossed in reading. Overall, it was a good book. I recommend it for discussion purposes if nothing else.
