I found the writing to be fairly simplistic. The characters reminded me of Partricia Cornwell's, Kay Scarpetta and her group. She, also, cooks and investigates murders. I enjoyed the book and stayed... (read more)

This is a quick read and a fun adventure. It is light reading. The recipes and food descriptions make you interested in food!
