Introduction
Holly Fisher opens her door one day and finds her estranged sister Hannah standing there with a glassy look and her nine-month old baby on her hip. Before Holly knows what is happening, Hannah has left her baby with Holly and disappeared. Three months later, fresh out of rehab for addiction to painkillers, Hannah shows up sober, contrite, and wanting her son back. From the author:Hannah’s addiction issues have spiraled beyond her control. When she recognizes it, she makes a very hard decision to put herself into treatment, but in order to do so, she has to leave her baby behind. Did she do the right thing in leaving Mason with Holly to seek help?
Holly becomes very attached to Mason and has a hard time letting him go when his mother comes back for him and does not give him up readily. Do you think Holly had reason to keep Mason? Should she have been suspicious of Hannah’s sobriety, or should she have realized that Mason was Hannah’s son and taken Hannah’s word?
Wyatt Clark has cocooned himself from the world after losing his wife to her first husband. Jesse Wheeler thinks it is time for Wyatt to re-join life, but Wyatt is reluctant. Was Wyatt afraid of being hurt again, or was he being unduly recalcitrant?
What made Wyatt fall in love with Holly? What was it about her that was different from the other people who had tried to rally him after the soul-crushing loss of his wife?
