My Reviews
This isn't just about a circus; it's about survival, love, growing old and standing up for those weaker than ourselves. I loved this book! The story was riveting; from the very beginning, I couldn't put it down and I found myself slowing down my reading at the end just so that the book wouldn't end. As soon as I finished, I ordered Riding Lessons because I wanted more by this author. Water Lessons shouldn't be missed!
I loved this book! May Dodd is an unforgettable heroine and I found myself caught up in her world. I loved her strength and her loyalty as well as the integrity that she brought to her role as the white wife of a Cheyenne chief. Here is a woman I wished could step from the pages to become my friend. Several times I had to go back to check the author's name to remind myself that it was, indeed, written by a man... Fergus captured the voice of women as many female writers fail to do. The book teaches a great deal about life among the Cheyenne; it's a wonderful reading escape.
