I have just finished this book, and I find it one of the most entertaining books I have read. The web of characters is incredibly done--each one carefully drawn, and the details enclosed in each letter had me turning down page corners (which I do not usually do) and hoping for a letter from one character or another to be next. What a mixture of information, plot, character, suspense, and just a touch of wonderful romance with a land and with people who are brought to life. The information about the Occupation of Guernsey during World War II was masterfully done.
